Lift-Off! A Night of Fab 80s Fun

What's not to like about the 80s? Big hair, double denim, neon sneakers... and of course, the music!

The N.I.C.K. Foundation Players gave its audience a blast from the past with its musical 'Lift-Off' – an all-singing, all-dancing tribute to the music (and fashion) of the 1980s. Performing to a packed house at the Yarra Valley Christian Centre on the 4th and 5th of March, the N.I.C.K Foundation Players took to the stage to perform hits by Blondie, Cyndi Lauper and Dexy's Midnight Runners – to name a few.

But the N.I.C.K Foundation's second original production was more than just a chance for audience members to let their hair down and sing along. For the young people involved in the musical, it was a chance to build confidence and self-esteem.

"We hope the show will foster creativity, confidence and growth within the cast," said David Buttifant, one of the founders of the N.I.C.K. Foundation and the father of Nick Buttifant, after whom the foundation is named. "But most of all [we want to] provide a fun experience for all of those involved, including the audience."

"We have been so proud of the passion the members of the Players have given to the show."
